Markbox usage guidelines

Effective: March 30th, 2026

When using Markbox, you're subject to the Shrimpcamp terms of service, and the Shrimpcamp privacy policy.

(1) Definitions

This document will refer to Markbox as the following terms: “our service”, “the service” ("The Service"), “Markbox”, "Fluffle", “the platform”, “our platform”. Additionally, "an entry" refers to a single piece of content created by users using our service. The term “entries” refers to many separate pieces of user created content.

(2) Usage

Our platform (“Markbox”) may not be used to upload or maintain entries which refer to unsafe or potentially offensive pieces of work or content. Entries may not include pictures, videos, or links to unsettling content such as gore, extreme NSFW (“Not Safe For Work”) content, or inflammatory remarks.

Content which violates these terms will be removed with no explanation given. We (“Markbox”) reserve the right to remove content at any time with no provided reason and for any purpose we deem necessary.

In the event of service closure, archival of created entries rests solely in the hands of the creator of said entries. The Service may provide a means to archive content, but it is not required nor should it be expected. The Service agrees to notify users of imminent closure at minimum two weeks before shutdown.

Users under the age of thirteen years of age shall not use our services in any capacity other than viewing entries. We do not knowingly store any information from users under said age.

(3) Hoarding

“Hoarding” refers to the act of claiming entries on The Service with the intent of keeping them for periods of time undecorated (without considerable effort or work).

The Service reserves the right to decide that said period of time is, with the requirement that the period of time is listed to users.

The Service reserves the right to decide what constitutes considerable work or effort. Generally, content of the entry (including metadata) are factored into this decision.

The following types of content do not constitute considerable effort, no matter how much work was put into them:

  • Entries created with the sole purpose of listing other owned entries by the same owner with the intent of listing them as “claimed”. Entries which Markbox would deem as “decorated” do not conflict with this, and are fine to be listed in such a way.
  • Entries created with the purpose of linking to other sites outside Markbox.
  • Entries with a vague purpose, such as those with just images or nonsensical text. Markbox reserves the right to decide what constitutes nonsenical text or a vague purpose.
  • Entries created with clearly copy-pasted content (even with minor alterations). Markbox reserves the right to decide what constitutes enough alteration to be considered a separate work.
  • Entries created with the purpose of monetary gain through the act of selling the rights to the entry to another user.

Entries in violation of this can be reported to Markbox via the claim form available to registered users on The Service.

Markbox reserves the right to mass-remove entries in violation of hoarding policies. Entries listed on "hoard list" entries (entries which exists with the sole intent of listing hoarding entries) may be removed with no prior notice.

Entries which are removed under the assumption that they are hoarded shall not be recreated by the same user within a week of the deletion. Doing so will attempt in a permanent ban from the Service.

(4) Content

Entries cannot be created which contain possibly upsetting content such as unsettling imagery (pictures, videos), inflammatory text, or links to anything which may violate these rules.

Content which violates United States laws and regulations will be promptly removed with no appeal.

Markbox reserves the right to decide what constitutes unsettling imagery or inflammatory text. Notification of violators is at the discretion of Markbox, and violators may go without notification.
