Markbox Claim Guidelines

When filing a reclaim, you must abide by the following guidelines:

  • Entries are not claimable if they've been edited within the past 3 months. This is a rule enforced by the website itself
  • Entries are not claimable if they appear to have a fair amount of effort put into them (this is obviously subjective)
  • Entries are not claimable if they are on a randomly generated slug
  • You must include a reason describing why you specifically should be the new owner of the entry. In the event that there are multiple claims for the entry, it is not first come first serve
  • We will not be accepting reclaims for NSFW slugs (as of January 28th, 2026)
  • If you're found abusing the claims system, your ability to file claims will be removed
  • Don't ramble just to make your claim seem credible, it's obvious. Target a one or two sentence claim
  • Don't include information that doesn't matter in your claim, we don't care

What counts as abuse of the reclaims system?

  • Submitting multiple claims for the same slug
  • Switching accounts to submit additional claims for the same slug
  • Failing to follow these guidelines within your claim reasoning
  • Filing claims in order to "hoard" them (keeping them for a long period with no activity)
  • Reclaiming slugs and copy and pasting decorating content onto them (thus making it seem like you've decorated an entry, but it's just the same content you've used elsewhere and have edited a bit)
  • Winning a reclaim and then submitting further reclaim requests for other slugs before you use the just reclaimed one
  • Creating low-effort claims which are designed to just reach the character minimum

How to submit a claim?

You can find the claim button in the user menu (top left) when viewing any entry (while signed into your Shrimpcamp account).

From that menu, you'll find the "Claim" button around the halfway point.

On the claim page, you can click the button at the bottom to file your claim. If there is no button, the entry was likely edited too recently and cannot be claimed.

In the claim form, leave the title as it is and enter your reason in the "Content" box.
